Vacancies & Volunteering

At present, Same Roots Collective does not have any paid staff vacancies. We do, however, usually have volunteering opportunities available and warmly welcome people who wish to support our work and community.

Volunteering with us is flexible and can vary depending on the time and commitment you are able to offer. Some people volunteer for a few hours in a day, while others choose to support the Collective over a longer period.

To support volunteers while they are with us, we are able to offer the following subsistence and hospitality:

  • Short volunteering sessions: hot drinks and light snacks

  • Full-day volunteering: hot drinks, snacks, and a shared hot meal

  • Longer-term volunteering arrangements: meals and accommodation provided to support volunteers during their stay, with volunteering hours and intended lengths of stay discussed and agreed in advance.

These provisions are offered to support volunteers and enable their participation, and are not intended as payment or wages.

All volunteers are required to read and sign a Volunteer Conduct Form before beginning. Where a volunteer intends to support the Collective on a longer-term basis, a Volunteer Agreement (rather than a contract of employment) will be put in place. This agreement will reflect the individual’s circumstances, role, boundaries, and mutual expectations.

We value volunteering as a reciprocal and supportive relationship, grounded in respect, clear communication, and shared care for the work, the land, and one another.
